double mitre bench cutter

Sure Cut 3 (SC3) is a truly universal machine, with an infinitely-adjustable matrix guide to suit all types of creasing matrix, up to 25mm wide, including special products such as Off-Centre, Reverse Crease and Double Crease.

Manufactured to the same exacting standards as the original SC1, its features include:
• C.N.C. billet machined main body
• Precision engineered cutting blade holder
• Double 75 degree inclusive angle cutting blades
• Blades made from standard cutting rules
• Four-position cutting anvil made from tool steel
• Reversible scale for both metric and imperial measurements to 600mm(24”)
• Metal parts are either stainless steel, plated or surface treated to prevent corrosion
• User replaceable spare parts with full spares back-up

SC3 is manufactured to ensure maximum ease of use, with quality and consistency of performance. Alignment of the centreline cut is easily and quickly achieved by rotating the lead screw adjuster, and thus moving the matrix guide, so that the mitre cut is in the centre of the matrix channel.
The longer handle ensures sufficient mechanical advantage for the cutter to mitre all types of matrix products, with the minimum of effort. Unlike some other cutters in the marketplace, (both expensive and cheap varieties), the action of the SC3 cutter handle is ergonomically correct, in that the operator pulls the handle in an arc towards them. Other makes of cutters with the handle action placed parallel to the measuring scale, may cause repetitive strain injuries in the shoulder joint.

Sure Cut 2 is a quality, precision mitre cutting, hand tool – a perfect companion for the Sure-Cut 3 bench mounted double mitre cutter.

Robust all-metal construction and versatile design offer the following special features:

• Unique parallel action handles for a perfect mitre with minimum effort
• Special 75 degree included angle mitre for additional clearance in the corner where board bruising may occur
• Mitre cut is registered by a pair of centrally locating guides that the locator slides into, ensuring a cut central to the channel, even when cutting off-centre matrix
• Replaceable cutting anvil, manufactured from non-ferrous alloy for longer blade life and features a self levelling design for greater accuracy
• Fully supported for all spare parts

matrix installation tool

To assist in ease of use, both on initial installation of the creasing matrix and the subsequent removal at the end of the run, we have developed the purpose built hand tool – Sure Cut Press Knife – to replace the often-used craft knife or wood chisel.
The press knife, unlike the wood chisel, has been designed to have the weight of the tool balanced by the handle and the blade is thus perfectly weighted, offering excellent dexterity in removing the double sided adhesive backing paper prior to running the transfer impression.
The specially-ground double angle blade has a feather edge to slip easily under both the matrix and the adhesive layer of the matrix, allowing it to be lifted cleanly away from the platen. The press knife is manufactured from quality materials and is plated/anodised to prevent corrosion, whilst the blade is fashioned from tool steel.

anti-friction spray

SureSlip is a high-performance silicone lubricant contained in an aerosol spray that offers a considerable reduction in friction, when applied to a multitude of surfaces.
By the use of modern technology materials, the overall effect of the lubricant is substantially increased both in the short and the long term.
Sure Slip can be used in an of the following ways:
• Used with Sure Clean to ensure long term platen/forme care by stopping rust and tarnish build up on cutting/creasing rules.
• A sparse application to the cutting forme prior to using creasing matrix allows an easier fit of the locator to the creasing rule and a positive registration on transfer impression.
 
Wherever a reduction in friction is required, SureSlip is the answer.

stainless steel shim tape

Sure Shim is a comprehensive range of hardened stainless steel, self adhesive shim tapes, available in a precise range of sizes, that uniquely allows the user to select and increment the thickness of the shims by 0.01mm at a time, from a minimum thickness of 0.03mm.

SureShim is available in four sizes:

• Sure Shim 03 0.03mm (0.001")

• Sure Shim 04 0.04mm (0.0015")

• Sure Shim 05 0.05mm (0.002")

• Sure Shim 10 0.10mm (0.004")

Sure Shim is 8.0mm wide and, for maximum ease of use, it has a 12mm finger-lift backing on the adhesive film. The transfer adhesive system is specially formulated allowing for both short and long term bonding, yet can be easily removed or replaced, should the need arise.
Because Sure Shim is made from 40 rockwell hardened stainless steel, its resistance to crushing or deformation is very high plus it is very stable as it is non-oxidising, meaning that it is suitable for formes that are being used from long term storage.
